Grow Up!!!!!

19:04 May 29 2009
Times Read: 863

I’m out for a little fun this weekend and that’s exactly what I told my daughter on the phone today. My daughter finds it amusing and tells me quite often that I should ‘grow up’. When I hear her say that I do smile as I know and have discovered that growing up isn’t something that comes automatically with age, it’s something you want to do. When I’m with the guys I have fun and have been known to be a tad irresponsible but when I’m away from them I act the part of ‘that’ responsible father who works to pay the bills.

I will be picking up my babe from the airport; I have a need to see her. I know it’s only been a week but I really have missed her!

Great weekend

I love being British, it meant that with just 4 hours of sun and I’m in shorts and eating ice cream.

But seriously, I can’t remember a bank holiday being this good, and for the whole weekend too.

The last bank holiday (at the beginning of the month) was a wash out, which being England was so typical and as if to add insult to injury they showed a host of crap on TV. This bank holiday with the weather absolutely perfect and everyone out and about they showed a flutter of well watching films both old and new, go figure!

Perfect fit!

I’ve had a really great day, hectic but great. I’ve not long been home from a night out with my friends of which included Pink and the Spaniards (sounds like a pop group, lol).

My day stared when I had a call from my daughter this morning telling me how excited she is about going to Poland tonight. You could feel the excitement in her voice, then asked me if I could pop ‘round before they left. This was never going to be a problem as I was missing her already and she hadn’t even left yet.

When I got there I sensed something was up and that my babe had been crying. It turned out that when she downloaded some songs for her iPod and she added them it deleted what she already had. We sat down and solved the problem and I swear I saw her face turn into a warm glow. Her music library was up and running and ready for Poland.

As I was there I managed to see if she liked her T-shirt …… it fitted beautifully and we couldn’t get it off her, she simply loved it.

It still makes me feel goofy when I do something for her that I know she appreciates, I do feel guilty that we don’t live together as a family but such is life.

I knocked this out on my phone.. again thanks to everyone who advised me on the size.

When I downloaded her picture I also found this on my phone ... friends with a sense of humour ... see the boy sleeps!

Mini Rant!

13:26 May 21 2009
Times Read: 897

I’ve been thrown back into disarray. I have to contemplate where I go from here.

My doctor's instructing me to have more blood tests and I’m booked in with the hospital for yet another echo and cardiogram. It’s a waste of time and resource.

I really thought I was finished with all that. As of right now I am not sure if I will even go. I think the medical profession is wonderful but I’m just a little tired of being pulled about anymore. This is not about me wanting to sound sensational, it’s about me wanting some sort of normality, and I don’t want all my conversations with friends to be about ‘how it went’ at the hospital all the time.

I know there is a problem, I’m not stupid, I just don’t want to waste my time or theirs with getting it confirmed.

I was due in the States this summer for yet another wedding. They will tell me I can’t fly. Forget the insurance premium they will put on the flight. It’s a dilemma!

Next week my daughter is in Poland for her half term break, I may take the time to run out to Spain as I tend to think better in a trusted environment among people I love. Isn't it something when I can't think right around here?!!

Yes I know I procrastinate and over think things, but this time it works well for me, as it always has!

I've been there sugar and confess I refused to have a heart cath done this year because I felt it was unnecessary for the symptons I was experiencing. It worked out for me but it's a hard decision to make. Just don't let being tired of dealing with the doc's and all, influence your decision, look at how you feel and research some yourself, it helps make an informed decision at least. Good luck, you'll be in my thoughts.

Would communism be the answer?

I picked up a friend from hospital who recently had laser eye surgery correction and was amazed at what else could be achieved if the money was there.

Our conversation lead us to talk about an automobile commercial that advertised ABS brakes as its main selling point. It’s a safety feature that I believe all vehicles should be fitted with as it can potentially safe lives.

In an ideal world anything that improves your quality of life should be standard and not be a bonus for the rich.

Isn’t it a shame that communism only works properly on paper!

Well, as we move forward the government... regardless of ideology starts to legislate these technology advancements become standard.

Like wearing seatbelts... but it only took them about 30 years of making seatbelts being installed in cars manditory to make it manditory to use them.

Give it time... nothing else moves quite at the speed of government...

It's still spring you know!!

The ever changing face of VR……….

So spring has about a month to go. They tell us that summer will be a scorcher this year; well I’ve heard that before.

I have watched and been part of friendships that have died or dying and new friendships being born.

I look at VR and smile at the drama that surrounds so many, it’s kinda sweet seeing all the bickering that goes on around these people and they in turn become part of my VR world, my drama. The difference is my drama stays with me.

I give credibility to Coven Masters and the staff on VR as I want to believe they have earned at least that much but have to wonder sometimes at the things they say.

I still remained shocked at the level of literacy on the site but I remain hopeful that things will improve.

Roll on summer!

I love the summer, and I want it to be a scorcher this year, it would be nice.

Why do you wonder at the drama and what the Coven Masters say (you are a Coven Master)*smiles*

As for the staff here...well they only do what they feel is right...even if in some area, it's not right!

The more one analyses people, the more all reasons for analysis disappear. Sooner or later one comes to that dreadful universal thing called human nature ; )

The Smell of Leather

12:14 May 10 2009
Times Read: 963

I love reading the rants on the Rave. The way people express joy and anger lets me see people in their true light, or is it in the light that they want to be seen in?!

I'm still making mistakes in life, I thought I was byond tha learning curve, but it seems we all really do still learn lessons right up to our death. That adage about teaching an old dog new tricks really did get it wrong.

I was recently painting a picture and when it was finished I felt it still wasn’t complete. I decided to take my brush and pamper the areas that I thought needed it. But, by adding the extra touches I realised I had ruined the whole picture. Life is so reminiscent of that!

Mothers Day in the States stirs my emotions yet again.

I tend to bottle up my feelings but it still doesn’t mean I don’t have them. I too have pain but I guess I’ve just got use to it … like old leather!

Is the sun out ? Have you dusted off your speedos ? When you uncork that bottle and share out the contents maybe the pain will ease a little.

I am always ready to learn although I do not always like being taught, as is the case with many people

Life is all about learning...I am learning all the time. The tombstone will be my diploma.

Sorry going off on one here, nothing is ever a mistake, depends on how you look at life!

With the weekend almost here, it rains!

I'm expecting a houseful of kids too. I could scream..

To think last weekend we were all thinking of dusting off the BBQ's.

Here's logic...

''Dad, we can still go to the beach, I mean we're gonna get wet anyway.''
